The inauguration is already here…it seemed at times that the transition was taking forever, but now it seems that the inauguration is here so suddenly. After Obama won, the three months of transition seemed like ages. And the Bush team’s continuing incompetence and lame duck status just made it seem all the longer. But I guess the days seem long, but the weeks go by fast. I’ve been really busy at work the last couple weeks, so maybe that is part of it, but now it seems shocking that it is almost here. And throw in the LONG primary and the general election; this finale to the 2008 has been a long time coming.
Maybe it all seems so shocking after 8 years of reflexively cringing whenever the president spoke that tomorrow the long national nightmare will be over. In T-minus 17 hours, Bush will be gone and Obama in as president. Awesome.
